What is OpenAI Codex?
Codex is OpenAI's software engineering agent. It can take on tasks such as writing features, fixing bugs, answering questions about a codebase and proposing pull requests, working either in a cloud sandbox or locally. The Codex CLI is open source and runs in your terminal, and Codex is also available through IDE extensions and inside ChatGPT. Many tasks can run in parallel, so developers can delegate several pieces of work at once and review the results. Codex access is included with ChatGPT's paid plans, and developers can also use it with API keys. It is a natural choice for teams already using ChatGPT.
