What is Cline?
Cline is an open-source coding agent that lives in your editor, most commonly VS Code, and also offers a command-line interface. It separates work into Plan mode, where it explores the codebase and agrees an approach with you, and Act mode, where it edits files and runs commands, asking for approval along the way. It supports the Model Context Protocol for connecting extra tools and lets you choose from many model providers or bring your own API keys. The extension is free for individuals, and you pay only for the models you use, with team and enterprise options available.
